Kelly Guidry

Spring 2016

Also known as the “Chainsawguy”, Kelly Guidry resides in Breaux Bridge, LA, the crawfish capitol of the world. His work is a combination of both subtractive and constructive sculpture. He uses a chainsaw and other power tools to cut and burn wood, and welding equipment to bend and weld metal. His use of the tools is sometimes unorthodox, and his techniques are constantly in a state of reinvention.

It is the last full week to see the work of @cornedbeefreuben on our walls. The public response to this show has been empowering, with women from all walks of life coming in to let us know that identify and appreciate this representation of the female form. We are living through a monumental time which we can see a shift in our patriarchal and misogynistic society. The beautiful works of Courtney Lubin use bold colors to contour and highlight women’s natural curves and provide a renewed vision of the female body. Please, join us and take time with these works. #femalegaze #womenpower #femaleform #femaleartists #feministart #womanifesto #nolaartists #contemporarypainting #artsdistrictneworleans #brandneworleansartgallery
