An accomplished classical violinist and self-trained visual artist, Lubin has been painting for the past two years focusing on imagery that portrays strong women who are comfortable in their bodies. She aims to reclaim the female form by depicting women via the female gaze. Lubin uses bold colors to contour and highlight women’s natural curves, making uncensored figures the centerpoint of her work. In a society where personal ownership of female bodies has become dissociated from the owners, a thing to be gawked at and judged, she seeks to reclaim the female body for all women.
